Italo Calvino’s “Invisible Cities” tells a story of Isaura, a place where the city thrives on the wells that are at the top of the underground lake the city lives above.
For this assignment, I was tasked with interpreting Isaura’s vertical city and adapting it into a fictional publication that the citizens of Isaura would read. I chose to tell a version of Isaura that harvests fish from the lakes using the wells, which drives Isaura’s economy. My publication is a short magazine about the three most common fish.
